So I saw this in theaters, and I'm just now watching it again on HBO and....
all i can think of his how bad Jennifer Garner is as an actress.
I am not a fan.
I like this movie for what it was worth. Chris Cooper, Jason Bateman, and even Jamie Foxx were pretty good.
But Jennifer Garner could have been recast.
I respect Jennifer Garner as an actress. Its good to see shes trying a variety of different roles other than just a genre like some. But I like your subject title. :)

I thought she was very believable. I know she took lots of training for the fight scene, and I believed she could fight the bad guys........really could have been any fit woman in her part, but I enjoy her acting.
sharec'mon, really? i'm not much of a jenn garner fan, 'cept for her ass, face and figure, but she did a damn good job in this flic....especially considering that she had two oscar winners to measure up to....i know i know, jamie foxx oscar winner, unbelievable, but here we are

I agree with the original poster, i didn't think she was much good at all. The bit where she said something like 'Don't loose them, don't you *beep* loose them' made me cringe...especially as Jamie Foxx had said it just moments before. I've not seen her in many other things, but i thought she was a bad choice for this.

at least the Saudi was humanized which is a stretch.
To make it more effective a view from the terrorists point of view would have been good, after all the more greater the hero is proven by the vileness of the enemy.

Generally speaking, though, when a celebrity seems to be widely considered beautiful, I find that I do not think that that celebrity is about as ugly as vomit in an ashtray. Jennifer Garner is the only exception to that I can think of, assuming, of course, she really is widely considered beautiful, which I'm starting to doubt, given this admittedly small and biased sample of views I've seen on this thread and others like it.
I think shes gorgeous. I also think she was pretty decent in this movie . At least she didnt come off as a bimbo, unbeleivable as a fighter, it was nothing special, but fine. and if you call her ugly, really you must have extrodinarily high standards, i supose you think that halle berry, and charlize theron are ugly too. I can guarantee, most people wud find her better looking than every 1 on this message board.

I think you shouldn't generalize Jennifer Garner as a bad actress... if she wasn't very good in this, I certainly loved her in Alias and that was action too.
and you can't call her ugly, that is not nice! I don't want to be aggressive or anything, but people saying that about people they don't even know are only jealous.

OK, 'ugly' isn't a nice thing to say. But the truth is Jennifer Garner has no redeeming features, she is a plain and 'flat faced' broad, with no real talent,
and certainly no charisma whatsoever.
I saw her in an old Law and Order episode the other day. The one where the gang goes to see an execution and almost everyone basically gets drunk except Curtis (Briscoe's partner) meets a young college student in the park and goes back to her place. It was Jennifer Garner. Her lips looked pretty normal before she got them puffed up unless that's natural. That's my only problem with her. Like that woman that plays in Warehouse 13 but not as bad.
Jennifer Garner is beautiful. She certainly CAN act (see 'Cyrano de Bergerac' in which she plays Roxanne opposite Kevin Kline).
She had a lot of help looking gorgeous in 'Alias' with the super-talented wig makers, costume people and make-up artists working on her. However, she is incredibly fit and she played an EXCELLENT Sydney Bristow for 5 seasons.
Garner won't always be young, svelte, beautiful and agile. So enjoy it now!
She acts rings around most other younger actresses (I'm thinking of someone like Kate Hudson) who don't act outside of a very narrow range of roles.

This is the worst movie with ... you name it! I don't know Garner too much, but after this "filth" I don't know if I want to see more movies with her.
