Did anyone else cry....(spoiler)

(spoiler warning)

Did anyone else cry when Colonel Faris died near the end? I'm a guy and I ain't ashamed to admit that I did cry, I know other people did as well.

For me, the last 10 mins of this movie are very emotional, it's what separates this movie from being just another action flick, I thought it was awesome.

I don't think i cried but i completly and totally agree. I was thinking the exact same thing. The last 10 mins really seperated this from others. Glad someone else feels the same way.

It was so powerful i thought as you finally see the 2 sides interract one final time and the music at the end is amazing as is the entire Soundtrack if you don't already have it.

reply

i cried because its bad ass movie

reply

I didn't cry, but was very upset and sad. It was a very poignant scene.

reply

Yes, I did too. Very powerful ending and overall a terrific film.

Yes, very sad...

Will these lonely nights ever end? Will I live to see my journey's end?

reply

I didn't cry, but came very close to it. The ending was perfect, showing the sad futility of this conflict.

reply

i was very touched whe, jamie fox spoke to faris's son

reply

The ending was devised as one of many poignantly 'zero-sum' conclusions that were fashionable when this film was made (see 'The Departed'). Faris' fate is deliberately tragic, given that he is portrayed as the worthiest of all his countrymen. Agent Fleury must be breathing a sigh of relief, though. As he is even darker-skinned than the Saudis (whose bullet-ridden corpses are common sights throughout the film) he must have known he was at considerable risk himself.

reply

Yeah, he was a badass. I haven't seen the movie in a while, but I think there was a scene where he showed how disgusted he was over the terrorists actions as it made his whole people look bad. But I do remember when he was talking to Jamie Foxx's character and pretty much said "f--k bringing these guys in, let's just blow them away."

reply

CarDriver ...nice to know you ... i CRIED at the end when Colonel Faris got killed and im proud to say it... The ending scene with Jamie Foxx and Fariss Son was very Touchy too...
