Worst edited Mainstream film ever?

The editing in this film was sickening and obnoxious. I was baffled by how often there were unnecessary cuts. The director c;ear;y got a lot of coverage and just decided to keep every shot in no matter how terrible it looked. I am trying to think of other films with editing this bad, i've seen thousands of films and can't think of any even remotely close to this. Thoughts?

I just watched it last night and yes, there is some atrocious editing, in this film. There is a lot of crappy acting and stupid screenwriting too.

There's the scene where the woman in the tunnel gets Carol Bennell to pull over because she is so terrified of the phenomenon that is happening. She is so ballistic in her frightened state that she goes into another lane of traffic and gets slammed by an SUV, within a matter of seconds. It's oh! I'm freaked out! Whoops! Now, I'm roadkill.

Then Carol offers assistance by alerting the police, in all seriousness, that she's a doctor.

You're a psychiatrist! THis woman just got run over by a car, at full speed. Are you going to give her a therapy session about it??
WHAT THE FECK?!

They wrote and shot that scene. I laughed. IF they were trying to be funny, they succeeded.

I kind of enjoyed the film in a low-expectation way but I also noticed the editing was very rushed and choppy. Apparently (according to the Trivia section), this had to undergo massive reshoots and the Wachowskis were actually brought in to be script doctors, and the director of V For Vendetta also came in for reshoots.

The film was produced by Joel Silver (also behind The Matrix series) so he probably decided to bring in the Washowskis who were somewhat hot at the time because of V For Vendetta.

The first act looks so amateurish I thought it was a straight to dvd movie.

Bought this movie and I did not realize at first it was a remake of the classic “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.”

It was an okay film but nothing special. It constantly occurs to me is that they don’t know HOW to make movies which build on suspense. The original starts out slowly, slowly building up to the horror. Now everything is thrown in your face.

And what is with this “let us check everything on the computer” business? The weird alien stuff does not need to be explained in scientific terms. It is just strange and scary, leave it at that.

This movie is far behind the original in slow building suspense and scariness.
