I haven't seen the Ledger version so can't on him, but to me is misses the point of Casanova slightly to cast a really conventionally good-looking guy in the role. Casanova has had to develop his technique; he's had to become a seducer, charming. Good looking guys never have to try that hard...

i love both David Tennant and Heath Ledger as actors and thought that they were both great in their respective Casanova.
I think that i would have to go with David, just because of the scenes where he pretends to be a spy, gives the vicar/priest (or whoever) a heart attack and the fake penis. I also loved Peter O'Toole and Charlie Cox.
I have to say I prefer David Tennant, because he gave the character a whole other dimension- I found Heath Ledger's version a bit blah in comparison.
shareMy vote is for Tennant! I have to say that I thought Heath Ledger's version was a little silly and now that I've seen the Tennant version there's just no comparison. I'm really glad went to such great lengths to find this version (I couldn't get it anywhere! Finally found it on blockbuster.com and rented it through the mail).

I love both! It's near impossible to choose, but I think David just about impressed me a little more.
