They made quite the to-do about the gun stash, but I actually know people with bigger collections than that... without the sea mine. I'm guessing it's a very different standard in the US than the UK.

I was using the term metaphorically to mean any gun that fiers a lotta bullets fast.
I know a "machine gun" is technically ,er , big and a full auto M16 wont count it'd need to be an M60 or something , even then that'd no doubnt be a "light machine gun"
But for the purposes of what kind of "machine gun" most countries wont let you run around with , i'd say even a semi auto AK47 counts
Do you understand how difficult it is to get a fully automatic weapon in the US? Most people can't buy one that was made post 1986. They are extremely scarce for that reason, and expensive too. Not to mention the multiple restrictions on carrying and brandishing weapons in the US restrict people from "running around with machine guns" as casually as you imply. Your assessment of people carrying weapons in the United States is flawed at a cartoonish level. It's akin to suggesting that all french people wear beret's and eat nothing but cheese all day.

2.my country has strong common sense guns laws like every other democratic nation (besides the USA). illegal guns are fairly uncommon and way way harder to get compared to the flooded US streets. not impossible, only far harder. when something is less prevalent, it has a lesser chance of being used. welcome to logic.
this encompasses the unstable and mentally ill almost completely unable to get any sort of dangerous guns. restricted class firearms are extremely hard to get, even nonrestricted ones are subject to strict rules. not following them loses you the guns. these laws include transportation but also at home storage/.. meaning they re far harder to steal./ meaning less illegal guns for crime. wow amazing how that works!
