1- it sounds kinda cute
2- there's no black reference in it, I'm white and I could be a porch monkey, no?
3- is it because there's the word monkey in it and they are inferring that a black person is less evolved than a white one by being a monkey? Aren't we all monkeys?
4- other than from clerks 2, I've never heard it before. Would people really understand it as a racial slur and identify its user as a racist or would they not even understand what he's talkin about? Have you ever seen anybody, possibly a racist person, use it in real life?
5- would it be incorrect to call a porch monkey anybody as such, or is it just usable for black people, hence its racism?

It's old, I think way back from the Amos and Andy days. Refers to the lack of work ethic among African Americans.

It is considered extremely racist, don't go saying it at work if you value your job.

If you take this movie back in time 60 years. The vile sexual references (ass to mouth) that are thrown about the movie, people would not believe that this was a mainstream release.

it is a cute nickname to call people who set up a chair on their porch to watch the everyday living of their neighbors and passersby,
it promotes a sense of community and togetherness that is lost amongst the hustle & bustle of the millennials & like of these days,
it is a common phrase from yesteryear & has no racial nor derogatory connotation, use it freely & liberally & i hope to help bring its use back into the present day

Incorrect, there is no explanation in the movie as to WHY it's a racist term. Please cite it if I'm mistaken.

Isnt it strange there are so many words that a certain race finds offensive. Certain words that can get you banned when speaking about a certain race.

But there is not one word that can get you banned or get a person upset when speaking about white people.

Such a glaring amount of maturity between these 2 groups.

They didnt choose to find it offensive. It was designed to be offensive .
Its nothing to do with the actual words "porch" , "monkey" or the combined "porch monkey"

Any word or phrase that is used specifically to insult a race as a whole becomes offensive by default.
Despite an earlier comment that "this isnt explained in the film" I though Dante did a pretty good job of explaining it to Randall in the movie.

But there is not one word that can get you banned or get a person upset when speaking about white people.
