Who would've been a better director?

I'm just curious, I'm thinking about what might have been. If Michael Bay hadn't stepped in to direct this film, who would've been a better choice for director?

Christopher Nolan would've made it an intense and super-awesome GREAT movie.
Alfred Hitchcock would've made it a horror movie.
Martin Scorsese would've made it about robot gangs.
Stanley Kubrick would've used actual explosions and robots, just so he could keep doing retakes.
Steven Spielberg would've made it more of a box office success than Avatar.
Terry Gilliam would've made it so dark and weird but cool
Francis Ford Coppola would've made it a drama about the robot mafia.
M. Night Shyamalan would've made it worse.
James Cameron would've made it with better visual effects.
Jim Abrahams and Jerry and David Zucker would've made it the best slapstick action comedy.
George Lucas would've put in more CGI. But it would be a better movie.
To conclude, the best director for this movie would beeeeeeeeee..........

I remember Robert Zemeckis' name was mentioned.

Zemeckis was Spielberg's protege, and given how he was often big into technical advancements, it might have been good to see where he went...however, at the time, Zemeckis was heavily into Motion-Capture, so one has to wonder if he might have just had the Transformers as motion-captured performance, instead of the animation way that Bay went.

Joe Biden might be able to do a great job with a movie like this if he ever wants to get involved in Hollywood after politics. He has such a creative mind and I bet he would be able to take his own charisma and bring it to the big screen
