Am I the Only Female Under 18 Who's Seen Shimotsuma Monogatari?

Watching this wonderful movie, I would have expected that its target audience would be for females around 15 - 20(after all, the protagonists were 17 year-old girls). But when I was looking at the demographic breakdown for the votes here, I was shocked to see that next to the "Females under 18" there was a 1! Apparently, I'm the lone female minor who's seen Shimotsuma Monogatari on IMDB (unless others have seen it and not rated it...).

Anyhow, this thread was fairly pointless other than to express my bewilderment at this discovery.

I think it has more to do with the users who frequent IMDB. Young teenage girls have their own teenage girls' oriented forum to talk about. You'd find more people to talk about this film in Japanese pop culture centric forum, or a Lolita (as in the fashion) crowd. The vibe in IMDB board in general feels very male-centric. (just my observation)

Am I the only 39-year old MALE who's seen this movie? I am learning Japanese and I am interested in the culture, so I came across this in the Japanese section at my video store. I loved it!

Well, there's 14 females under 18 who've rated it now, so I guess you started something :)

i am 18 now. but when i watched it i was 17. so...muah! or something.(i haven't aged very much in terms of maturity, no.)

I would imagine a lot of the viewers would be under 18 girls... young females.
And yes, I'm 15 and have seen it. I intend to introduce it to my friends also, which would add at least 5 or 6 more under 18 girls to your list ^^
