This is in my top 5 comedies of all time

I just find myself quoting this movie all the time and laughing, theres just so many memorable lines from this movie that was just funny. And Will and John was amazing together, they had that special kind of chemistry together like Chris Farley and David Spade had and John Candy and Dan Akroyd had.

For me just all the jokes in the movie hit and are legitimately funny, all the stuff with Chip is amazing at the dinner table, and when Cal comes to the hospital to confess to Ricky he posed for playgirl magazine lol. Man i can think about almost every funny line in this movie and still laugh my ass off at them.

Maybe some people will think its ridiculous its in my top 5, but hey its my top 5 and no other comedy has as many memorable jokes for me that to this day crack me up that i quote.

Theres almost an endless list of great lines from the movie
"Chip i'm all jacked up on mountain Dew!"
"I'm Ricky Bobby and if you don't chew Big Red then F**k You"
"I just wanted you know that Ricky before you died, that i spread my butt cheeks as Mike Honcho in playgirl magazine"
"Shake and Bake!"
"I'm 10 years old but i'll beat your ass"
"Don't you put that evil on me Ricky Bobby!"
"I'll come at you like a spider monkey!"
"In the words of the late great Colonel Sanders, "i'm too drunk to taste this chicken" "
"The room's startin to spin... cause of all the gayness"
"I like to picture Jesus with some angel wings and singing lead vocals for Leonard Skynyrd. And I'm in the front row and i'm hammered drunk."
"With all due respect Mr. Dennitt, I had no idea you got experimental surgery to get your balls removed"

I could go on and on lol.

Not in my top 5, but way up there and I totally agree with you - this movie gets better with age.

"Ricky, howd your day go?"
"Well I got mauled by a tiger, learned nothing about driving and my Crystal Gayle shirt is ruined. But other than that, great."

Everytime I see it I laugh more and more.

I swear man every line in the movie is gold, hard for me to think of comedy where every single comedic line hits and is legitimately funny and quotable.

Yeah. I couldn't make up my mind about this movie. In one scene I'm thinking it's irredeemable trash, and in the next scene I'm laughing. Even some unremarkable lines were saved by the delivery. My favorite was the following dialogue with Reese and the grandkids:

Walker: Grandpa, would you like to take us fishin', and tell us life lessons and stories about your childhood?
Reese: I got a better idea. How about you boys go dig a hole, and I'll go get another beer.
Texas Ranger: Someone didn't love you enough when you were little, did they?
Reese: [pause] Good call.
