bunch of bulsh*t represented as art

the director bulsh*tted the whole movie from his ass and people pretend to love it, because they think that if they can't understand a film, it means it contains very deep messages and it is a great art film.
this movie was terrible 1/10

There really is no deep meaning. You either understand the movie or you dont, some people need to watch once and some multiple times to understand The Fountain.

If you understand the movie, you can pretty much describe it's entirety in a sentence or 2.

I feel bad you consider it garbage when you dont even understand the movie. You cant have an opinion on something that you have no knowledge of. Thats absurd.

My DVD froze as the screen narrowed to a pinpoint. A great ending I thought. Then I realised what had happened. Have to watch it again now that I'm sober.

I said this exact same thing for Black Swan which was also directed by Aronofsky. BS was a cheap art wannabe flick that employed all cliche like a young girl breaking out of her shell and had all the cliche characters on the side. Everything is sex sex sex. The cheap ploy that everything is in her mind and some can be explained because she's crazy or wasn't real. And the ones who say they understood it are just as deep as the movie bullcrap.

The Fountain was interesting enough but also humble and had heart especially with the middle story. It lets you link the stories if you want. The endings are anything you want as well. Happy sad satisfied............I don't think it was trying too hard to be artful which is a plus for me. Music is great of course
