Bad Cast, Why I loved 1 + 2, but hated 3.

In short, ugly cast, and unlikable characters.

The leading female character is a made to look like a plain Jane. But also a plays a b***h. The leading male character is kinda like a snot nosed, weak minded loser. They don't necessarily have to be good looking, but I would like to follow someone that has some control of the situation. Give me one or the other. Why would I want to spend 90 minutes following these unlikable characters when they probably can't even save them selves as they are being stepped on by the people they are trying to save?

The little bit of saving grace is that at least the gore level is up to par with the other movies.

Aw I'm so sorry the characters weren't pretty enough for you.
Maybe try Skinemax?

If someone is praising the casts of 1&2, I doubt the issue with 3's characters would be primarily looks

I'd say Erin and Ian were unlikeable from the start. Even before Erin died and Ian went off the deep end, they're telling a traumatized girl to go kill herself. That's pretty much the worst of the worst as far as personality traits go. (Plus, Erin is basically Ian in a wig personality-wise)

Ashley and Ashlyn were probably the most sympathetic supporting characters, they seemed nice enough. Just underdeveloped. I loved Kevin though (in my top 5 of the series), and I really really like Wendy as well. Jason was likeable too.

Hm. Alex, Carter, Kevin, and Clear are probably my top 4 (not necessarily in that order, aside from Alex being first) I'd need to think about 5... maybe Rory or Kat from FD2 rounding it out? Or Peter from FD5?

I think mine would probably be Clear, Alex, Carter, Kat, and either Kevin or Erin.
So pretty much the same haha.

There were some characters that died in the opening disasters that I would have like around a little longer.. Like Shaina and George.

And do you know if Ashley & Ashlyn were suppose to kind of be a nod to Christa & Blake form FD1?

Erin is pretty poorly written IMO. She's literally Ian in a wig (minus insanity) I do find them kinda enjoyable for their witty one-liners, but overall I'm not huge on either of them. Lol.
Didn't like Shana. Laughing at homeless people? Urgh. Though I saw someone suggested having her as the premonitionist and giving her a character arc, which could have been interesting. I liked George, but him living gets rid of the stuff that explains away Tod's death and puts him on different grief levels.

Knew that about the Ashes :P

Oh yeah no I agree with George dying being important when it comes to the effect it had on Tod & his parents.

As for Erin, I can't honestly pinpoint why I like her, like you said she is poorly written, maybe it's just her wit I liked. Shaina was just stunning and looks like a close friend of mine so i see my friend when i see her in FD2 which makes me totally bias haha.

Oooohhhh and so it's true about the ashes? Like it was done intentionally?
I always just assumed lol

I feel kinda the same way with Erin. It's mainly her one-liners that I like; I definitely wouldn't want to spend time with her IRL

IDK if it was done intentionally, but they definitely feel similar

I temporarily turned off Email Confirmation, does that help at all?
It's been known to be kinda tempermental with people. Zetaboards definitely has its issues

I liked Peter, probably the most interesting of FD5.

I liked 3 more than 1 and 2

characters are the same as in any sequel

it's more fun, dynamic and interesting than 4 and later, easily watched again
