Unfortunately, it is the worst by a country mile, the jokes aren't as layered, the visual gags a lot thinner on the ground in comparison, although oddly enough, the contemporary cultural references are absent in favour of more family oriented comedy. I'd posit that the balance of comedy has been lost in favour of more traditional, one-dimensional gags. It truly has become a family movie franchise and the film reflects this. If you're looking for quickfire, clever punning/irony, knowing gags, they're few and far between in this installment.

punchbear's totally right. I loved Shrek 1 and 2, but I couldn't even stomach this one. I seriously turned it off less than halfway through it was so terrible. More confusing than how they could go from the greatness of the first two movies is how people could actually think this movie was even decent let alone good.

I agree it is the worst of the 3 and I gave it a rating of 1, and I loved the first 2 movies, and I am not a hater of sequels at all. Just very low-brow humor and I don't recall laughing once, they had a Shrek X-mas special on the TV that was much funnier than Shrek 3 the movie. I heard they are signed on to make 3 more and I hope they bring back the humor.

I also loved this film. I thought it was going to be flat and stupid, but fortunately it was the complete opposite. I had no complains about this film

The previous ones were certainly better.It was like they ran out of ideas.The only funny part was shrek at the college:making fun of all these teenage films with the cheerleaders and all..!

Films:can't get enough of them!!!

Oh my God!! I totally agree!! This is definitely the worst Shrek they have made!!! The first two were great, they should have stopped there..

I did like the college scene like someone else said. This wasn't as good!

this is better than the other two. Humors are more subtle than the others. Those who don't like it isn't intellegent enough to understand the subtle humors.

i thought this was the best one of the 3! the second one was sort of annoying to me and the first one wasn't as "involved". i liked all the random things in this movie!
