Worth buying?
I really want to see this, but don't know if it is worth the 30$.
shareDon't buy it. Don't even take it for free. It's not worth even watching. It's not disturbing or realistic, or even that violent. And I can't think of any other reasons you have heard that would make you want to watch it. The reputation of these films is ridiculous, they're nothing like people make them up to be.
shareI thought it was really boring and badly made. Not worth five bucks.
shareIf your going to buy this movie I would recemmend you get the whole triology. Not because one movie leads into the others (completely different plots/stories in each one with no continuation except for a couple of the main characters). I bought only the second August Underground film because I saw it on a list of all time sickiest movies, and after watching it I immediately wanted to get the other 2.
shareI was extremely bored while watching this movie. A few people recommended it to me because they thought it fit in well with my taste in movies. I won't talk about the production value because it's not supposed to be a slick Hollywood blockbuster. I found the story, acting, and violence to be terrible. For me, nothing about it looked or came across as being real, despite so many people claiming otherwise. If I want something "shocking" I'll stick to Cannibal Holocaust or A Serbian Film.
shareI've only ever read the title of this film, never looked into it even though I do sometimes like to watch DIY or very low-budget horror films including Ron Atkins' Harry Russo films, which I own. On my way to work on the bus in Pittsburgh, I pass a physical store that opened perhaps 2-3 years ago called The Toe Tag Store, and it has a poster of this in the window. I just thought it was a general horror or goth merchandise store, but today I found out that it's affiliated with the makers and production house of this film, and that this was shot in Pittsburgh. I don't know if Vogel owns or works at the store, but now I'm curious about this film. I'm definitely put off by the negative views, but I think I generally have a pretty thick constitution for this stuff. If you've watched the "agenda documentary" "Earthlings", you can stand fake horror that's extreme, I'd say.
