To the people who watch these films

I have a few honest questions:

What makes you want to watch them?

Do you watch them alone or with company?

Do you feel guilty for watching them?

I've only ever seen one and even though you can argue that its not real I still felt ashamed that i chose to watch the movie as my company watched in disgust. I also felt like I shouldnt be watching this movie and I also felt like the cops were gonna bust the door down any minute knowing that I was watching it.

reply

"What makes you want to watch them?"

Cause I like film and horror in all its forms.

"Do you watch them alone or with company?"

That depends on my company.

"Do you feel guilty for watching them?"

No. Why should I? It's not real.

Same here, good download! The first film didn't really freak me out much. There were several scenes where I laughed out loud. Maybe it's because I'm desensitized to this sort of stuff now. When I was in my early teens, I watched Man Bites Dog and Henry: Portrait of a Killer. Now those freaked me out, because I'd never seen anything like that in my life. I was horrified. But now, I just laugh, and take it all with a grain of salt. They're just movies, after all. :)

I haven't got a great deal to personally contribute to this topic, but being interested enough to want to read through it, there's little so annoying to find a topic that's been decimated by the damn moderators on these boards. For the first few pages, every other reply is gone.

Every human has a "death drive". its that simple. some people satisfy their Thanatos by watching flicks like this, others do it in more sinister and vindictive ways throughout their day-to-day. i prefer to satisfy my death drive with movies, television, and video games. (oh and cigarettes)

They mostly come out at night; mostly.

I watched this film only because I heard it was so disturbing and figured I just had to see what all the fuss was about.

Well, I sat through the whole thing. It was tough to do. Not because it was horrible and disturbing, but because it was just plain BAD. This movie is pure crap. It was shot on a DV cam and the quality is so poor that you can't really see much of what is going on. There are scenes of torture that start and then a a fight at a thrash metal party and tours of a pig processing plant.

This movie is junk. The only thing I got out of it is a feeling that I should make a horror film using my HD Cam. There is no way I could make something worse than this.

reply

I watch it because it's decent masturbation material.

1. I like the shock/gore factor of these kinds of movies.
2. I usually watch them alone as most of my friends aren't into these types of movies.
3. Sometimes I feel guilty, because at least for this movie it seem like these events actually happened by how it was filmed. However, I just remember its just a movie with actors and no one actually got killed.

Call it morbid curiosity, but I get my real gore fixes at bestgore and goregrish. I'd rather see the real thing then pretend:P

-What makes you want to watch them?

The same thing that makes me want to see Dumbo. In the first place I don't know what the movie will say and usually horror is the best place to talk about "incorrect" themes. Violence is not exactly what I'm talking about, but what causes violence... is one of my big interests.

-Do you watch them alone or with company?

As everybody in the world, I watch movies alone and with anyone who wants to watch movies. Horror movies are included and we pick a film (or at least I always do) in a democratic way. And if there's someone very sensitive to a certain movie or I'd say theme (because is not always a horror movie) we don't watch it.

-Do you feel guilty for watching them?

As guilty as reading "The Little Prince" by Exupéry.

Really... human monsters are created by human abuses. Movies don't do that.
