how long did it take you to figure out the thinly veiled 'who done it'?

in case you can't figure it out by the subject, this one contains SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

the moment Leela says "I bit his hand and he went thataway" the rest of the movie was pointless

I have to agree. I initially thought it was Forster's lawyer when I saw him fondling her hand in open court. But as soon as I realized it was supposed to be a whodunit flick and saw Leela in the hallway supposedly attacked but Pacino could find no one in the parking garage, I knew it was her. Besides that it wouldn't have been the attacker's MO to grab someone outside their home. Bad movie anyway.

reply

how could he not remember that she was one of Forster's lawyers though?? even if she wasn't the lead...

who played the lead lawyer lady??

i didn't think it was that obvious...

For me, I knew something was amiss when, after being attacked, she says two things... "I let Dale's killer get away" and "I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused."

This fragile little girl is thinking she should somehow have subdued a sadistic torturing killer who attacks her unseen from behind? Um, like, ok.

And then she, having been attacked, says "I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused"? I thought, "what trouble?" Ah, she must have something to do with this wild goose chase.

how does her say "I let Dale's killer get away" give away anything??

i can understand the sorry for the trouble i caused line...

and i guess the parking garage thing was a bit odd, so did she hit herself then i guess??

reply

That's what I was trying to figure out. I was imagining a Jim Carrey Liar-Liar move, with her banging her head into things and hitting herself, then I started laughing at the bizarre visual.

reply

The killer is hanging people upside down and torturing them. Do we expect a frail college girl to "capture" this kind of a nut after being attacked from behind?

As Shakespeare might write, "thou dost protest too much." She's overcompensating to cover something up. As a victim of an attack by who could potentially have been a sadistic killer, she should be in shock, or in a state of absolute panic, not feeling sad that she failed to apprehend the assailant. It's just absurd, and stuck out, and ultimately did not surprise when the real "bad guy" was revealed.

Knew it was her also. The "let me stage my own attack" is seriously one of the oldest tricks in the book. The killer attacked her at such an odd moment then ranaway. Then when Jack was like "what did he snuff you with?" and shes like "It smell sweet. Aha! Must be halothane!" I was like 'Oh geese...its her'

reply

i actually kinda thought it was either her or ryan (can't figure his name out n am to lazy to go back) because they are to well known not to be in it a bit more. so i know it's pretty stupid but yeah that for me did it.

Spencer: why can't you accept me for who i am
Paula: because who you are is not acceptable

reply

Haha, I like it how you called him Ryan, even though being an OC fan, you must know that the actor's name is Benjamin.

But I agree with you, I thought it had to be either him or the blond girl. I was leaning towards blondie though.

I thought I had it figured out early, and in my opinion my ending would have been better.

In the scenario I foresaw, Jack was in fact the killer. He was also insane and had no idea that he had killed the women.

That would relate to his conversations with his class about what insanity is. It would also tighten a few of the more obvious plot holes.

reply

Immediately after recognizing Leelee Sobieski.

"Isn't that her?" I asked myself.
"What's she doing in such a minor part?"

Whoops.

Then she admitted having gone to law school.

reply

thought it was the male student .....but obviously it was somebody from his class....real obvious

reply

yep me too.

I thought Leelee Sobieski has to have some bigger part in this.

that's why Kevin Spacey isn't credited in the opening of Seven. but if he was, and if he had some little role of some clerk it would be obvious he also has to have some bigger part it the movie.

so, is you wanna have a killer seen in the movie before the ending, cast some unknown actor.

reply

I'm with some of you here with the random attack in the stairwell routine. It literally came out of nowhere.

reply

Yes, random stairwell "I was attacked!! Go Get him!! I bit his hand, he'll have blood on his hand!!" routine was very obvious.

This script was awful. The acting was worse. I couldn't believe these actors agreed to such a crappy premise as this.

Also, the moment I saw her in class in the beginning, I knew it was her. They went way over the top trying to convince us that Alicia Witt was the killer, when it was painfully obvious that LeeLee was the culprit.

Terrible. Movie. Period. Awful.

reply

Exactly, the garage thing, me and my g/f just looked at each other, shaking our heads.

Worth seeing, but not worth going to see.
