The worst performance in this movie goes to....

Trilby Glover's character as Jon Forster's lawyer in the very beginning. Porn acting at its finest.

Though you attempt to pontificate with the eloquence of the Oracle at Delphi,
Leli Sobeiski (especially in her final scene) is clearly displaying the worst histrionics in the entire movie.
(It seems many others agree with that opinion).

reply

Leelee Sobeiski, when i saw her in this film i knew i recognized her, weirdly enough she was that 12 year old little girl in the family film "jungle 2 jungle" with tim allen, that I enjoyed when I was that age

My first thoughts were, wow she grew up.

and then wow, the acting is terrible.

haha.

reply

Yes she was bad, but the important thing is how much she's grown...

It's me, Gloria, I left my driver's licence on the table, next to the fruit!

reply

Leelee Sobeiski hands down. Not so much throughout the film as at the very end. She just can't pull off 'sinister'. They should have never had her call Al Pachino's character "Jack-o". It left a taste of cardboard in my mouth.

reply

Agreed. How could the makers of this film not see that Leelee Sobeiski makes a horrible villain. My high school plays had better acting than this. My condolences to the audience. This could have been a good movie. Pacino was good and would have been better if he had decent supporting actors.

reply

Someone once interviewed Michael Caine and asked him why he made the movie, "Jaws 4." He said he'd never seen the finished movie but it paid for his beautiful house on the island.

Yeah, money talks, scripts suck! A lot.

reply

Maybe Leelee Sobieski is not much of an actress, but she sure is hot. And there are a lot more Leelee Sobieskis running around Hollywood than Meryl Streeps.

reply

While I agree that (the first lawyer) was hammy; truth is when you have lines THAT preposterous ("pontificate like the Oracle at Delphi") it's damn near impossible to pull off with a straight face. I mean she must have looked at the script and thought, "my whole frikkin acting career boils down to this *beep* Writers strike my ass!"

I'd give it to LS. I mean that whole maniacal laughter at the end ("ha-ha-ha!") was just some of the worst pantomime acting I've seen in a movie for a long time - and I think she's mega hot. Not saying the script got any better, but it was achievable to make that ending half-normal if you didn't have such a balsa wood actress. Embarrasing performance.

Leelee Sobieski was just completely awful, and totally unbelievable for that role.

Stuck in purgatory.

reply

No. Opening lawyer. Sucked. Bigtime. This movie is going to make a great coaster.

reply

Alicia Witt was underwhelming.

reply

Opening lawyer for sure
Stupendously bad

Alicia Witt. She had more screen-time than the other female leads. So, she sucked more.

Totally agree; just watched this a few hours ago and Pacino, once again, sleepwalks thru a movie and gives another of his bug-eyed / sleepy performances.

"Charlie Sheen" starring Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Casey Affleck
