With Kate's hectic schedule being a doctor and Alex's work (possibly involving travel) getting in the way..... would they have stayed together??

Would they have STAYED together?... Yes. For sure. Why? True love of course.
Life can throw many obstacles in your way but it doesn't matter so long as the love is true. Sometimes, two people really are just meant to be together. I truly believe that... I have to believe that.
I think they did, yep. As h-oates says, it's true love.
They had been through so much to be together, they weren't about to let anything compromise their continued happiness.
I think this is a couple of people who probably cut back their schedules and made sure each other is a priority. Beautiful stuff.

But there is an ad at the bottom of the page that implies Sandra Bullock may not be a person you want to know in real life.
It is very possible, especially for a movie with a happy ending. I'm thinking they went through that whole experience because it was... eternal love that was meant to be :)
