i thought it was gonna be another crappy movie, but I was wrong.
I recommend you to go see this with your loved ones and make sure you're in a happy mood.

shareI was kinda in a bad mood before watching this, but it did cheer me up somewhat. I love those feel-good, lighthearded movies that I usually watch in between a Tarantino flick and a 3 hour long Oscar winning war epic. And surprisingly, it was a GOOD feel-good movie.

I love the scene in church where she loses it with God. Beautiful illustration of faith and humanity. Who says a fluffy comedy can't have a deep message?

I liked this movie also. At first I thought it was going to be crappy and stupid to. But it was enjoyable and sweet to watch. Q. Latifah did a good job.

My expectations were nil beforehand.
Very moving and also funny.
I was also pleasantly surprised. For lighthearted fare, I'd say the movie accomplishes more than most. It does challenge many of us to think about what we would include in our "possibilities book" if we kept one. I already liked Queen Latifah from "Chicago" and elsewhere but I like her even more after this, and LL Cool J was quite appealing also. Depardieu may be going downhill these days but he's still fun to watch. So yes, a thoroughly enjoyable movie.

shareThe real kick in the head for me was first they had Georgia looking at her reflection going on about next time...'next time we'll laugh more, we'll live more, we'll see the world, we just won't be so afraid', and that I think is the time in the movie that if you're going to cry during it at all that is the quintessential moment for it...and then BAM, cut to Dr. Gupta saying the machine screwed up and she's going to live...that's a real kicker there.
sharevery enjoyable. i saw this movie twice in the theater and recently purchased it on dvd. its very inspirational to me. i have been at a very boring, unfulfilling job for about 10 years. this movie made me see the light. i wasted so much of my life being unhappy at this job and my last day is dec 22 2006. i am going to go out there and find something that makes me happy. thank you georgia byrd, you have made me see the light!

I bought it the day it came out on DVD last year without even seeing it first. It looked like a cute but underrated movie, and I was right. It was one of the better movies I'd seen in a long time (now that honor goes to The Pursuit of Happyness, but I digress) -- I highly recommend it.

What thrills me is that it inspired a viewer ( jacksk1 ) to stop being afraid , to get out of a job of 10 years that was doing nothing for jacksk1 and go out there and live the life they deserve .
So jacksk1 , if you ever read this , please do tell where you are in your life now and is it becoming everything you wished for ?
All the characters became this little family duing this ' Last Holiday ' and that made it all the more endearing .
I have recommended this movie to loads of people ( male and female )and not one , I repeat , not one ever complained in the slightest . They ALL loved it .
Anyone who has not seen this , rent it or see it on VOD , it will definitely put you in a great mood !
