Reminded me of Intolerable Cruelty, but still felt very fresh as it's a darker and more subtle experience. Overall a great classic comedy, one of the best I've seen for a long time. Definitely recognizable as a Coen piece, but with a welcome British touch. :-)

Well, to each it's own, I guess. :-) I'm NOT a big fan of Colin Firth but I thought that he was great in Gambit as the character's role seemed to be a perfect fit for him. He's a funny guy in a very unique way and should do more comedies in my opinion!

shareI thought the movie has not been released yet in the U.S., I checked on CBS films and they posted a Oct 12,2013 release date for the U.S. Alan Rickman is my favorite actor so I've been looking forward to seeing this film.
I saw Gambit with Shirley MacClaine in the mid 60's and remember it being in the same vein as the Pink Panther films and other like How To Steal A Million Dollars, Paris When It Sizzles, etc.

I truly enjoyed it. Yes, Cameron Diaz is woefully miscast to the point that you keep thinking how much better it could have been with a better actress, but still it's stylish and fun.
