In Finland this film is rated K15 which means that it is okay for a 13-year-old when watched with an adult present..
I think that rating is quite high and I'd probably give this one rating K11 or even K7.
The movie has no violence in it (which I think is great change for an American film) and all sex in the film is implemented. So there are no scenes of sexual nature.
but would I recommend this movie for a 12-year-old? I must say I wouldn't. I just don't see how 12-year-old would be interested with this. The movie is really boring and from the most part of it - nothing happens. So there are probably many much better films for a 12-year-old to see, but I don't see that seeing this would be harmful to one.
