What's up with the ending!!!!!!

Love the movie, It's probably been said before but I just didn't like the ending. It seemed rushed, a bit contrived and for me lacked a bit of resoluton.
-Brad running round the street, randomly decides to ollie staircase, get's knocked out and has epiphany, firstly I dont believe he would have done it and secondly it seemed kinda stupid that he was so convinced one way and then a little knocked to the end makes him realise he was being stupid.
-I've read in another post and also agree that the not so subtle metaphor of: I dont care about my kid so no safety seat in the car, lose sight of her for 30 seconds, now I do care about my kid and put her in the safety seat. On top of this she then just decides to abandon her rendezvous with brad and just go home and cuddle with her child. Also wierd that sarah would decide to meet brad in the park, or what ever she was doing. +was the only reason for her to meet and talk to ronnie in the park just so the plot had a means for sarah to be distracted.
-And lastly it was kinda lucky that larry just happened to find Ronnie in the middle of the night in the playground. I also don't buy into the way Larry acted, he push the mum and she died, and then all of a sudden he realises that he has been bullying Ronnie and feels really bad about it.

Just didn't like it

I agree, I thought the ending was lame. Even if Brad was having second thoughts, he would have met the woman to tell her he had changed his mind. Him hanging out with the skate kids took me right out of the movie. The cop finding the molester was too neat and I didn't by his new-found sympathy either.

Agree, nice movie but a rushed ending. Still, made me feel about it.

Very good movie, but I felt empty with the ending. It did feel very rushed and I understand the point was how people go through things but do realize their mistakes - then go back to normal.

It is just unbelievable that two people go from wanted to run away from their lives with someone else and just change their mind 5 minutes later to the extent its totally over.

Brad wanted his youth back when he loved his life. Remember, those kids basically ignored him every night he watched them. Then, one night magically they invite him in and give him their approval for almost pulling off the Ollie.

Kate's character realizes after seeing how broken up Ronnie is over the loss of his mother how important she is in teh life of her own child; then gets teh scare of losing her for a second. In the beginning of the movie, she's more annoyed with the attention and time her daughter needs.

I took the last scene as Larry realizing (his shaking hands) how mentally disturbed he is and how in a sense he's a kindred spirit with Ronnie. They've both committed reprehensible acts (his an accident but still...). And, to wrap it up he gets a shot at being a hero cop again.

The movie did have one of those highly unlikely confluence endings where everyone kind of smashes into each other, but it's fiction and I'll suspend my disbelief for the plot.
