The Worst Movie Ever Made
I think that this was perhaps the worst movie ever made. Yup.
shareIt wasn't the worst ever made, but it was indeed terrible--just one disgusting, unbelievable thing after another. If you like to see old men drop their pants, hear over and over references to his radical prostate surgery, see a mother taking drugs, then vomit endlessly, a boy get viciously sodomized and beaten, a girl show a tattoo she made herself with a razor blade, and to cap it all off a boy smother his grandfather with a pillow, because he wasn't taken on a balloon ride (I had to laugh at this one), then I hope you enjoy it.
shareWow, you missed the point and message of this movie completely. You focused on scenes you didn't like and strafed the movie with them.
You did pick up on the double entendre of the title, right? It's simple, really, and it's the key to understanding this movie.
Nothing you mentioned in your post is unbelievable.

Of course, I got that the "Fierce People" of the title refer to both the super rich people the boy associates with and the South American tribe he would like to study. This is not a double entendre,( which is a word or phrase with two meanings, one of which is usually risqué). This title simply refers to both groups of people-with no puns or hidden meanings.
Anyway, the premise that the rich people are compared unfavorably to a warlike tribe doesn't make this particular movie any better. Yes, I mentioned scenes I didn't like, but there weren't any that I did like.
Again, the things you mentioned that you don't like are NOT unbelievable. They actually happen. Nothing far-fetched about them. And there are movies that are a LOT darker than this one.
How many times did you hear about Osborne's surgery? He only told Finn about it to put the boy's mind at ease regarding his relationship with his mom after Finn stated clearly that he believed they were having sex.
Synonyms for double entendre: double meaning, innuendo, play on words. The title had a double meaning. It was a play on words. But I'm not going to continue a debate on semantics.
Really? NO scenes that you liked at all? Warning: Spoilers. You didn't even like the scene where Osborne takes Finn up in the balloon? Or where Finn slings the cocktail sauce on that a-hole? Or where Finn and Maya drive that antique car out into the field? Or what I thought was that hilarious scene where Finn pretends to be his mom's maid? Or the scenes where Finn is working for Osborne? Or when Maya and Finn say goodbye at the end? Or ANY of the caustic witty remarks Finn makes in the film (the director said he has an uncanny ability to do that which helped him be selected for the role)?
Well, I thought the actors were superb--especially Donald Sutherland, Anton Yelchin, Diane Lane, and Kristin Stewart. I thought it was a coming of age film for both Finn and Liz, who had some growing up to do herself.
