It was not even filmed in Wichita.

I thought the movie was ok, but when i watched it i looked for any signs of wichita, the keeper of the plains, downtown wichita, any thing.

For most people this did not occor to them, but i actuallty live in Wichita, so it was very evedint.

When i watche the bonus fetures on the DVD the admetted that they filmed it in Guess where, The suburbs of Chicago.

And as a final thought, we almost never have very thick ice, we occasionaly have ice for 2 days and snow is never on the ground more than a day. so the movie did not fit the weather.

Finally the lake scean, there are not many lakes near wichita, we have ponds but not many deeper than 15 foot, and i have never ssen a peir on any of them.

Over al i stil like the movie

Perhaps you should try Spellcheck?

Who cares where the movie is filmed. Furthermore, who cares where the movie is set. The setting is a generic Midwestern nowheresville.

In this town, I'm the leper with the most fingers.

yeah i know ... i hate when they do that ... good thing that director's like george lucas and stanley kubrick filmed on location cuz star wars and 2001 would have looked sooo obviously phoney if they'd been done on a soundstage or in a nearby solar system where they didn't have to meet the union pay scales

I guess I was assuming the fictional location was Wichita Falls.

No, it was Wichita. The graffiti on the bathroom wall was probably just some drunk guy coming up with something that sounded catchy to him.

As someone else wrote above, it was, "As Wichita falls, so falls Wichita Falls."

The movie definitely didn't take place in Wichita Falls, Texas.

The story takes place during an abnormally cold and icy time in Wichita. So to film it, they needed to do it in a place that was cold and icy - which they couldn't normally expect in Wichita.
