wut do u think the toughest football position is?

i'm a junior in high school, i play defensive line. i'd say that the linemen work the hardest out of everyone, what position do u think is the hardest?

reply

Offensive lineman definitely work the hardest out of all of them, but running backs and wide receivers need a lot of stamina as well.

We should have *beep* shotguns.

reply

Us linemen D-line men don't really have it too bad.

Read the line and follow the ball. Thats pretty much it.

As starting nose at my high school, QB, RB and ML have it toughest.

reply

rb and qb have it rough cuz they are the guys that the d-linemen want to murder.

reply

I could go two ways on this. On the one hand, the runningbacks take the most hits, and the quarterbacks often take the hardest hits when they arent even looking. Still, the QB and RB both get tons of glory for it. On the other side, the OL get virtually no recognition from most people, except for when they screw up and miss a block.

reply

QB, try having to throw an accurate pass when you have four 250+ pound players trying to kill you

reply

for defense, the linebackers hog the glory when the ends and the tackles do most of the work. thats wut pisses me off, the only time we dlineman get credit is when we fail to make to the tackle and we catch hell from coaches.

reply

As far as pressure goes, probably QB (making accurate throws) and RB (making plays.) But as far as toughness, definitely OL (hitting every play, blocking d-line, making plays so the RB and QB can make plays.)

reply

jesus ok your in junior high so u dont know anything yet. when you get to HS find out how bad your QB has it. he takes the blame for every loss. I played linebacker in high school and i do not envy how crappy a quarterback has it. Sure the oline works hard and i am not arguing that but they dont get the blame for a loss.

reply

The hardest positions on the field is first the QB because he runs the show and secondly Left Tackle because they take on the best Defensive Ends plus its mostly the quarterbacks blindside they need to feel protected.

reply

i would have to say the the OL...
what other positions have you moving 250-355lb guys every play.. serious.. i was a center in high school.. and having to move big a$$ guy like that is like wtf.. especially when being blitzed.. that's the worst... especially when its coming to your hole. either the 1 or 0 pocket...
QB does have it pretty bad bc yea he does run the show.. but without the OL he has no show to run..

I think the running back is the most physically demanding position in all of sports, not just football. I bet over 90% of the public couldn't run even 3 yards while going up against one guy let alone 2 or 3 which is the case many times.

There is no one answer.

If you put a gun to my head and pick though I would probably say LB. You have to be strong and fast and have stamina and be able to diagnose a play and read formations and all the stuff.

reply

I'm a Sophmore at my high school and I play D-line (DE end to be exact) and id say its definetly the d-line or the running back the running back has to have a ton of stamina but at the same time us D-lineman are constantly working on getting off hits and you probably get hit the most on the d-line, but in respect to the game every position is difficult it just depends what your good at!!

I Ain't Mad At Cha!!!!! But I will be if you don't shut the *beep* up!!!

reply

The toughest football position?
Two Choices:
D-Line because they have to work very hard sprinting, trying to get away from the O-line, and making tackles.

Running Back would also be very physically demanding because all the times they get hit, blocking, and sprinting and finding gaps once they have the ball.

SIKE!!

reply

Well, fullback has the toughest players at the position. Not of course because I was a fullback. :)

As for the most physically demanding? I'd say the running back.

reply

mentally- probably qb becuase most of the time he's the star player and the one people will blame if the teams no good.

Physically-rb, gets the ball the most.

reply

i am a linebacker and i think being the QB is very hard position to play i sure would not want to have to throw a specific pass and have like these big 250 pound guys after my a s s

reply

I was a tight end in high school and I'd say quarterback and the O-Line have the toughest jobs. But I had to play running back on the scout team in practice one day (don't ask me why, I'm a slow white guy) and that was pretty brutal too.

Quarterback and the linebacker who runs the d. They are tasked with running the game on their side of the ball, and really need to know what everyone is doing on both sides of the ball.

Ooh, guns, guns, guns! Come on, Sal! Tigers are playing
(taptaptap) tonight! I never miss a game.

reply

Cornerback is definitely the hardest position in football.
