The ending was weak, but otherwise a pretty good, gorey vampire horror

The guy vampirizing himself made sense, but then he just faces the whole gang face to face. The leader honorably fights him alone, though, which hadn't really been their style to that point. The moment after Hartnett power punches straight through the leaders head was funny, though.

I probably rate it about the same. The vamps are good.

Yes, their depiction of vampires was my favorite thing about it. Instead of making them all seductive and clever, they were downright feral.

That's one of the things I love so much about my favourite vampire movie, Salem's Lot (1979, obviously).
