Bits you Didn't Like (All Series)

I love Peep Show - but there's always going to be something we wish wasn't there. For me it's the animal bits. I never find animal death's funny - but for some reason every comedy I know and love seems to find it appropriate to 'off' some animal in a vile way. I never watch the pheasant thing with Mark - but I get the gist. Hate that Peep Show did this. And though I find the Mummy incident less offensive (it was an accident...to begin with), I still wish comedies would avoid this area. I just find it a bit ...wrong.

So what bits of Peep Show do you dislike?

1. I hated Mark and Gerard playing with the toys. That didn't feel "true" to me. It seemed sitcommy.

2. However, I liked the "Mummy" episode. Why? Jez wouldn't really eat a dog, so why would it feel "true" to me? Because I think it's an exaggeratedtruth, which is that a person is much more interested in saving face than they are in acting in noble ways. It's like the art of caricature: you exaggerate someone's features to emphasize what's interesting about them.

The whole eating the dog bit was very unbelievable and seemed like something from an American Pie movie, and I could understand how a lot of people wouldn't care for it. But the way they quickly just walk away from the situation once there found out is genius.

I liked Nancy at first, but she started to annoy me with her schizophrenic religious beliefs.

What REALLY bugged me was Toni screwing things up with Jeremy and Nancy, I think their relationship had a few more laughs in it, or they could have at least broken up some other, funnier way.

It was funny, but the whole thing made me feel a bit sick. During the last few minutes I was just thinking 'oh god why they doing that... I don't want to watch this'.

I also didn't like when they tried to get Mark's personal trainer fired, that was pretty low of them.

Not a 'bit', but I'm currently on Season 4 and I don't like Mark marrying Sophie even though he knows he doesn't really love her (AND he tries to cheat on her). I think it's pretty despicable to lie to someone like that. Fortunately I don't like Sophie's character at all so it doesn't bother me as much.

I love Peep Show, it's one of the funniest shows on TV. There's very little I don't like about it. However, one thing I don't like is the way Dobby's character has changed in series eight. Before that, she was the perfect woman for Mark, being very like him, and Jez considered her a geek and disliked her. Then suddenly in series eight she became just like Jez, has nothing in common with Mark at all, and Jez falls in love with her. It all happened far too suddenly and seemed like the writers were trying too hard to throw a spanner in the works with Mark and Dobby's relationship. Obviously it can't all be plain sailing for them, that wouldn't be funny, but there were plenty of other things they could have done. Making Jez fall in love with her just seems lazy.

I was thinking the same thing. She wasn't so unlikable as she was in season 8.

You are mentally unstable.

If you cannot deal with a TV show using the fake death of an animal for a plot point then you are a fkng assclown.
