Some major problems with the movie

* There are many scenes like the one with the grey children or the nurses that are impossible to see because it's too dark. This must have been a production error, you can not even tell what that it is you're looking at. I've seen this movie a few times on different T.V's and it's always the same issue.

* The detective (in real world time) is shown to be the same age in 1974 and in 2006. How could that be? what a plot hole.

* How could the female cop be burned to death in a purgatory dimension? it was alluded to in many ways that they were already dead. Her crashed bike at the side of the road was enough for me to know what happened. How could she die again?

1). I saw the movie on TV. I didn’t have a problem with the darkness

2). The present tense, in the film, is 2004 (30 years after the fire). The detective might have been 58 present tense and 28 in the flashback. Sure, they could have tried making him look older in the present (or younger in the flashback). But not that big of a deal.

3). It’s another dimension, but it’s not like a total dream or something. See the way Sean Bean senses his wife was in the school, or the way he finds the home’s door open. It’s another dimension, yet there is still a connection to reality. That’s why Sybil could die in Silent Hill and in the real world
