Too bad, it was such a good prank, I don't understand why they just didn't REALLY do this prank to someone. I keep noticing so many things throughout the film that weren't adding up, but the biggest one was Kimmel. He was the best friend white ebrowed guy. Perry said that he was his friend since at least 95. It's Kimmel, impossible! I'd know that voice anywhere. I think the Porno Producer was Kimmel also. I woulda most likely bought it if it weren't for that...
Seriously Groovecake, it is. Kimmel's trying to play a joke on us. The guy's name is "Don Barris", look around for him, he doesn't exist! They're old buddy films even LOOK doctored. That is so Kimmel in a fat suit with blue contacts and white eyebrows. You can tell when they run into Adam Corolla, they're playing it up! Also, they went out of their way to show Kimmel at the Premiere clapping, so you wouldn't think they were the same person. That's when I totally knew. I checked around on search engines and everything, a lot of people think this think was totally fake, and the jokes on all of us. I was disappointed also, but it's still really funny. Also, Tony Balberi, the other guy, is a writer from the ManShow, and he's just wearing some bad wig and hat. I haven't totally figured out who he is yet either. Also, when they were in the limo on the way to the Premiere, Perry said we're like bad rockstars, or something like that. And then he said he rates a lot of rockbands or something. All the sudden, the limo driver was in the back saying that he has a band, was playing tapes for him, etc. But PERRY brought up that he rates rock bands. They didn't try to prompt him to say that. So how would they be able to set up that prank if he brought it up himself? That's another reason I'm sure they made the whole thing up. Still working on it.
DONT LISTEN TO THIS GUY...HE KNOWS NOTHING. Don Barris is not Jimmy Kimmel. Are you trying to pull a prank on us by saying that? You might be retarded...really, if you think thats jimmy kimmel.
When I was in LA a couple years ago, I got tickets to be in the audience of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Don Barris hangs out in the studio and gets the crowd pumped up during the commercial breaks. A friend of mine also said he's on the show sometimes, but I don't actually watch it very often so I can't confirm that for sure. I can say for certain that I have been in the same room with Don Barris and Jimmy Kimmel. They're different people.
I haven't seen this movie, but it has piqued my interest.
The whole reason I came to this site tonight is that the 3 main guys, including this Don Barris, were just on Jimmy Kimmel tonight. (I don't know if it's a repeat or not.) Barris and Kimmel were on the same stage together, and it was not some sort of camera/editing trickery.
They were so insane, I wanted to check out info on the movie. (I think I had heard of it before, but haven't seen it.) If you took the movie as real, and it was a joke on the main guy, well Jimmy flat out told him that, and the guy ignored it. Towards the end, this Caravello guy kept struggling to not break character, as he was fighting against cracking smiles and laughing. Then his face would change, as he tried to get back into character.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0057570/ yes the doc is bogus and a scam. But dude Barris is totally real. christ he is even on IMDB. I have seen him on various comedy stuff over the years. You sound like a moron saying someone isn't real when you can find endless pages of proof not the least of which is his credits list on this site. Don't look under a rock for someone next time you search. Over 1 million returns on google for him and a profile here. Where is it you couldn't find him? hell he even did Marons WTF? podcast at least once.
Think about it, why doesn't this movie have a cast listed?
Because if they listed it, then you'd know who was who.
I don't know why they'd want kimmel to dress up as one of the guys, when they could just grab unknowns, but I agree that a LOT of stuff of this movie doesn't add up, and likely is not real.
They probably couldn't pull off something like this that's actually real, without sacrificing some of the pranks.
I would have to say that if it's not Kimmel, then "Don Barris" looks a hell of a lot like him, but I agree that it is him. I mean come on, they even have Dane Cook as Roman Polanski, who's one of Kimmel's best friends. This movie is laced with comedians. "Don Barris" does Kimmel's mannerisms and voice as well. Also, is some wanna-be actor really so stupid that he doesn't know who Roman Polanski or John Quincy Adams is?
Plus, they said that it was a decade long practical joke. The only movie that comes even CLOSE to having taken place over ten years is Hoop Dreams, which only covered five years. There's no way this is real.
NOBODY is stupid enough to act like Perry - so stupid, but convenienly furthering the "joke" plot. Everyone in it is acting - badly. Not to mention the technical errors (like documentary cameras suddenly missing in some reverse angles) that prove it is staged. There is not one "real" moment in it! They should have done the joke for real. At worst, it would have been better than this POC. Anyone who believes it is real, has to be a stoned Kimmel fan who has lost too many brain cells.
"Intelligence is overrated. What's required is diligence. And the service of a willing spirit."
I know that this movie wasn't a rip off and Jimmy Kimmel wasn't playing the role of Don Barris ... How do I know, because I'm Don Barris. In your research you should have checked out the credits for the Man Show because you'll see that Don Barris was the audience warm=up for the show. Thanks for the comment about the fat suit, really made me feel good. Don
Don, didn't you win an award for best public access show? And haven't you been perfoming in LA for many years? Get a life conspiracy kooks.
The way you can tell that this is real is Perry is obviously not a good enough actor to pull it off. It is the funniest thing I've ever seen on Comedy Central. I can't wait to see it again.
When something is too good to be real that doesn't make it fake. I've screened WCH for a few of the uninitiated and one of them had the same dumbass conspiracy argument. It's seems to be motivated by jealousy. Face it, losers, the planets lined up and these cats made one of the funniest films of all time. If Spinal Tap was a 10, Windy City Heat turned it up to 11! Congrats to the Big 3!

THANK YOU!!! Come on you guys...Perry Caravello does not possess the talent as an actor or comedian to have been in on this prank...he is an idiot and that is why it was so damn funny! I loved this film - it was brilliant.
If you think Windy City Heat was funny, and Perry was clueless, Don runs a comedy show at the Comedy Store in Hollywood called the Ding Dong Show a couple of Mondays a month. There's a whole group of people (they call themselves 'comedians') who are just as clueless and delusional as Perry, and Don acts as their ringleader, promising TV and movie stardom. So if you go, you can.... a.) See Don Barris for real in person b.) Watch the live action version of Windy City Heat
In case no one noticed, the folks in this film are all over Comedy Central. Jiggly Wiggly was on an episode of Reno 911, then you have Dane Cook, Adam Carolla, Jimmy Kimmel and a bunch of others I can't think of off the top of my head. Also, this movie was done by Kimmel's production company, "Jackhole". I think that might be the reason why you see him at the showing. I don't agree with those who say Kimmel and this Don Barris are one of the same. Barris was in an Andrew Dice Clay movie called Brain Smasher. The only reason I know this is because I looked on this site. So don't say he's listed no where. You guys have to remember that it's not that hard for fat people to look alike.
So is the movie fake or not? I thought it might be too good to be true plus there could be a lot of legal implications in such a prank. Also, Ten Years? Don't they say in the film that they finished filming in a week or something?
Well think about it: they told Perry he was going to be the star of a movie called "Windy City Heat," and he was. It just wasn't the movie he expected. Also, at the beginning, it says that his friends have been f'ing with him for 11 years, but the "movie" was shot in a week.
when they said they've been pranking him for ten years they just mean they've been messing with his head in general but not with this particular prank... but you posted this post 3 years ago so I'm sure you don't even remember writing this :cP
I watched this film last night with Bobcat Goldthwait, he came to Vancouver to showcase all of his films over a weekend, and he assured me it was all real. My hope is he wouldn't say that if it weren't true, but I suspect there are elements of fallacy throughout but the truth outweighed the falsehood so he can still have a clean conscience. All "docs" are fabricated to one extent or another, a fact which I assume he is using for the benefit of promoting this film.
With that being said it's hilarious, and watching it beside Bobcat was such a cool experience. I found it very entertaining to hear him laugh at some of his own jokes.
You are wrong on every account. I actually happen to be conected to the creators of the film through a friend who works with them and is good friends with them. The film is REAL in every single aspect. It is not a blair witch rip off, Perry had NO idea what was going on. Don Barris is a real person, he works at the Jimmy Kimmel show. I have also talked to Perry personally and he even told me that it was real. This film was the creation of Don Barris who is the one who came up with the idea and has been messing with Perry for 10 years. I can't believe people post things on these forums that they know nothing about. There was nothing fake in the movie it was a prank that was really played on Perry and he had no knowledge of the trick until after the film was released.
I have seen Don Barris on Kimmel's show. And Jamie Kennedy said it was "The greatest hidden camera prank ever"
Also, If you watch Kimmel's show you are familiar with Jake Byrd (Michael Jackson Fan) I was wondering if Tony Barbieri plays him, or possibly Don Barris.
I was at the CineVegas showing back in June, and there was a Q&A with Bobcat, Jimmy, Don (yes, he's a real person), Perry, and "Mole". "Sy" the attorney and "Susan B. Anthony" were also in attendance. I think the speculation is fun, so I won't spoil that for anyone on either side. The film itself was shown in 4:3 and didn't have the cursing bleeped out. Added to the end was an appearance by the cast on Jimmy Kimmel, along with Perry's comments on the appearance.
ive spoke with perry several times, and he mentioned the CineVegas show to me more than once. He also said that they are trying to get it out on DVD, but its all tied up right now...something about Don and Jimmy having the rights and wont sell it off yet.
I'm glad so many people have replied to the theory that Jimmy Kimmel is Don Barris. I thought that was hilarious. It was mentioned that you can't find Don Barris on the web. Here's some sites below.
Check this site out that is full of pictures from opening night that include pics of Kimmel with Don Barris!!! Barris and Kimmel are two different people. Although I thought for the longest time that they were at least brothers. The movie was a great joke on Perry. http://www.scaryperryproductions.com/pictures.php#wch1
How can anyone think this is fake? I have this movie recorded and have seen it more than 20 times and still laugh every time. There is no way that Perry knows this is real. I think Perry is hilarious just for his lack of sense and outbursts of anger. Honestly, if he was in on this he should be nominated for an academy award.
