What's with all the dissapointment?

I thought this movie was great. Why are so many people displeased with it and giving it such a bad rating??

"Are you gonna shoot me?"

"That depends. Do you see me?"

I agree. The movie is not that bad.
I just watch Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol and I think is worse than this one.
Both are the full of cliches popcorn action movies that you expect these days. So O.K. it is not good, but probably deserves a slightly higher grade.

Well your post isn't very long for a start O.P and well it's boring and...oh wait you mean with regards to the movie....oh nothing in that case :) .....

Wasn't really dissapointed since I didn't go into it with a very high level of expectation to begin with.

It was o-kay... as far as pop corn flicks goes.

Lots of action and very heavy handed in terms of special FX, but not much else in the way of character development, script, dialog, and just basic overall knowledge of aviation technology, logic, and science in general.

That being said I did like the designs of the fighter planes. Both the A.I. fighter drone and the 3 Navy pilots' planes all looked very kewl (which is what they were going for I imagine).

It receives bad ratings because it isn't a good film. I'd cite hackneyed dialog, predictable plot, zero dramatic tension.

If you liked the film? Great. Art is art and if you liked it you shouldn't apologize for it. Nor should you expect others to acknowledge it as "great" merely because it appealed to you.

By reasonable, objective criteria this is simply isn't a good film. Sorry.
