Lowest Point in De Niro's Career
...or will it be topped by an even worse movie?
shareOh, there's his CAPE FEAR!
I wish someone would explain to me the appeal of De Niro.
Ever since that performance in CAPE FEAR, I thought he was the most over-acted and over-rated actor around. A ham?
Well lets see, what needs to be explained?? The appeal is He is one of the greatest actors of all time! Check out his resume and then do your homework, minus a few roles maybe He should not have accepted.)See what anyone that knows movies and cinema may tell you. He's pretty much a legend of His time. There, are you understanding?? A ham? seriously?
shareYou obviously haven't seen him in "Stardust".
shareBut Stardust is Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Godfather I & II and Rashomon combined compared to Hide & Seek. DeNiro just had a funny part, but at least it was worth making.
shareI don't get people who say it's full of plot holes or worst ever and don't elaborate. These posts are worthless. Either they are just some kids fooling around or they didn't get it. Why would even someone take time to write a line like that. If I don't like it, I rate it and move on. I'm not going to post some idiotic line on the board of each movie that I saw and didn't like.
shareI guess you missed him in The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle...
shareI'm actually suprised that only one person mentioned 'The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle'..That's by far his worst movie.
shareIt's a sad thing when a gifted actor starts taking on roles like this in movies like this. He should call up Martin Scorsese and tell him he'll work for free if he casts him again.
share... Then along came "Little Fockers"
Jack White killed a man with his bare hands.... While singing and playing guitar.
Little Fockers or Meet the Fockers...
shareThis film isn't very good, but De Niro has done even worse "Godsend." "What Just Happened" isn't very good either. He's a prolific actor – perhaps too much so – but he still churns out decent performances, even if the films aren't that great.
De Niro's appearance in a thriller is almost a spoiler for the twists that inevitably come (as they did here).
"hide and seek" is definitely not de niro's worst, anyone seen "showtime"? i feel he just phoned that one in. someone said "what just happened" i agree that was garbage i stopped watching that pretty fast but maybe it got better who knows. i also agree with whoever said "godsend" but hey if it's one of those days where nothing's on atleast it provides some humor, de niro's pretty funny as that crazy geneticist. and let's not forget "righteous kill" that movie was horrible but i think i'm gonna have to go with "showtime" as de niro's worst piece of crap movie i feel pretty comfortable sticking with that one lol. as for "hide and seek" i enjoyed it and don't understand the hate. i mean everyone has a different opinion but i feel it's one of those movies that would be good to watch with your kids on halloween. maybe that's why de niro did it. and the way dakota fanning is sullen and so reserved makes her dialog very intriguing. her whole demeanor is what makes the movie unique u know it's like a somber tale, i can definitely appreciate it.
