Skyfall? Really?
Lots of you listed Home Alone, I mean Skyfall. Wow. SMH
I guess tastes can vary. I guess.
They're just following the crowd on the internet. It's a small minority of 'fans' who actually like Licence to Kill, The Spy Who Loved Me, and the shitty Craig era films, but that's all people on the internet seem to like. It's not consistent with what most fans actually believe, and this vocal minority is probably most responsible for giving us this dreadful Craig era.
shareInteresting. I really liked the first two Craig films, but the other two sucked IMO. I thnk anyone who discounts Casino Royale and QOS are doing it based on predispositions, but I understand why they may feel that way. Me, I'm a fair judge. If it entertains me I don't hold prejudices.
Cheers.
1. You Only Live Twice
2. From Russia With Love
3. Moonraker
4. The World Is Not Enough
5. Casino Royale
1. Casino Royale
and the rest in no particular order
Moonraker
From Russia with Love
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (drama parts still work today, but rear projection stuff and action is pretty dated)
Eh, can't decide the last one... maybe Goldeneye or The Spy Who Loved Me or Thunderball or Quantum of Solace...
1. Goldeneye
2. From Russia With Love
3. Casino Royal
4. The Living Daylights
5. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
I will never understand the love for Skyfall. Does not compute.
Here is not the real top 5 but the top 5 for people who don't really love Bond films but want to pick Bond films they think fit the modern gritty, "realistic", cool zeitgeist. In no particular order:-
Casino Royale
From Russia With Love
Licence To Kill
For You Eyes Only
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Only one of them is really a top 5 contender.
Here's the internet Bond 'fan' starter pack for people who can't think for themselves, starting with the typical ones that show up in a top 5:
1. SKYFALL!!!!!!!
2. Goldeneye
3. Goldfinger
4. Licence to Kill
5. Casino Royale
6. The Spy Who Loved Me
And the dishonourable mentions:
18. Die Another Day (it's not realistic!!! (even though none of the Craig films are realistic in any way...))
19. The Living Daylights (it's just so boring (even though it is one of the most action-packed of them all), but I haven't even seen it and I'm just copying what other people on the internet say)
20. Thunderball (because Bond LITERALLY rapes a woman and that's not cool because I'm a male feminist)
21. A View to a Kill (The Beach Boys thing is too 'campy' (I can use intelligent words that I learned in a cultural studies course!) even though I love seeing Daniel Craig jump on top of a komodo dragon in Skyfall)
22. For Your Eyes Only (never even seen it, but people on the internet say it sucks so that must be true, and it has Roger Moore)
23. Moonraker (even though Jaws is totally cool in TSWLM, this one 'sucks' because some cool people on the internet said so, and it has Roger Moore)
24. Quantum of Solace (just so I don't get exposed as too much of a Craig fanboy, but I secretly love it)
Feel free to help fill in the rest.
