Is this the creepiest movie ever made?

I mean, it's not just slightly creepy, is it? It's very, very creepy. It's the creepiest thing I've ever seen in my life. It makes my skin crawl. I've seen it loads of times, it gets even creepier the more I see it, somehow.

I'm wracking my brains trying to think of stuff that's creepier and I can't do it. The Grudge was pretty creepy first time round but stank on a second viewing. Below was slightly creepy. KM31 from Mexico was creepy in places, here and there. But Dead Birds, jeez, that creeps right to its bitter, creepy end.

yes it is very creepy

reply

I agree, it's very, very, very creepy and foreboding.

this film is ok but not scary, a little creepy, mostly cgi nonsense and cheap scares straight from a 70 slasher flick...a neat twist though...

reply

What twist?

And I didn't find this film creepy at all. I was expecting something 'very scary' according to what I'd heard about it, but it wasn't at all. It had a good atmosphere, a good story and I liked the film don't get me wrong, but I didn't think it was creepy!

Creepier movies - Ju On The Grudge, Insidious and a strange choice Fire In The Sky (mainly lame alien abduction flick but the last 12 minutes or so are the creepiest committed to film)...you may like Kairo (though i find that more sad and bitter than creepy)

I want to say that Lake Mungo should get a special mention here. that movie creeped the hell out of me.

Can anyone give me examples of what was creepy? I just got done watching it and don't even understand it. Did they all turn into "skin dogs?" When the two got separated in the corn at the end, I knew he was going to shoot her by accident immediately. So, no surprise there. The only surprise was when he was shot in the day and then it flipped around like a loop, showing him to appear as a "skinned dog" just like when the group originally got there.

Why did he look like that. Towards the end, they said they found another one in the corn and said something about it being "one ugly.." so I assume it looked like a skinned dog too. The question is though, why did they look like that, and when did they?

I understand the movie, but I also found the premise a tad silly. His wife died so he used some spell to bring her back from the dead but it instead what...turned his children into demons? So he tried to kill them? And then he was hung up like a scarecrow?

I mean, I like movies where a group of people are isolated from the outside world and are facing some kind of threat around them that they can't just get up and walk away from, and this was that kind of movie. However, I never felt any real serious impending doom as I watched them explore the house.

And again, I really did not feel like they tied everything up nicely either.

This film isn't near as creepy as "In The Mouth Of Madness" or "Prince Of Darkness". Just to name two that sprung immediately to my mind.

"America isn't ready for a gay, mexican chicken sandwich" - Poultrygeist

I don't consider this 'creepiest movie ever'.
There isn't real a movie from which I can say "this one is the creepiest ever".
I guess I got used to it, not much horror movies can really frighten me.

There was a slow creepy insistence about it. I was expecting something to happen at any moment. I was beginning to think how long can this go on without something happening. But after I got used to the slow creeping insistence, I settled into the film. Good stuff.

It was creepy. And a lot gorier than I was expecting for a supernatural horror. Not a bad film but not one I'll be watching again.

the children from after dark horror fest. also, tourist trap is pretty much the creepiest and scariest film I've ever seen.
