Turned it off the moment...

she shot the dog. I have three dogs ( I am a big animal person) and there is no way I could have lived with myself if I was in her position. I would have rather died than kill my own dog. I would rather be dead than hear the sound that dog made when he got shot, not to mention the fact that he is an innocent life. I know some people might say "oh it's just a dog" but if you ask me there is nothing worse than hurting an innocent animal. I mean I think the same thing about kids, because hurting them in anyway is so horrifying (I think all child molesters, rapists, abusers etc. should be tortured and shot) but with kids, they have a voice to tell you if someone is doing things like that to them and they can speak and stand up for themselves, but animals do not have a voice. They can't tell you if someone is beating or neglecting them and that REALLY pi$$es me off when people do that to ANY animal even if it is on a movie or a t.v. show.

reply

Uhhh...

Nobody REALLY shot any animal...

No sh!t Sherlock but that sound and the whole scenario is just to sick and disturbing to think about that is what I was saying. You can't tell me that you wouldn't feel the same way if that happened to someone you loved.

she didn't actually shoot the dog.
it was a trick...

people always leave; but sometimes they come back

reply

Yes,she shoot the dog and if i was in her shoes in that situation i'll do it myself too...

reply

> if I had to make a choice, I'm sorry I'm picking myself.

Look at the situation. She wasn't really making a choice between herself and the dog. Whether she killed the dog or not she was going to be killed by the bad guys eventually.

Plus, she could have realized that the bad guys had already faked injury to her once and they had yet to actually do anything to physically harm her.

Uhhh. No kidding, genius.

The whole point is, animals are exploited in movies, in circuses, in rodeos. They cannot speak for themselves.

What's so hard to get?

Nope, I love animals too but I would rather kill an animal than die myself. Like it or not animals are not people. Also, if an animal is threatening myself or any other person I would have no sympathy in taking it out. Sometimes animals cannot be controlled and it is a last resort.

reply

....I don't remember in the movie someone shooting a dog...and I just recently finished it today, watching it twice. I want to know. It's not normal for me to forget such things.

reply

I must have seen an edited version, 'cause there was no dog in the entire movie I saw.

reply

If I had a card telling me I had 30 sec to blow the dog away or be blown away myself, the countdown wouldnt even get near 5 sec... 30. 29 - Boom.

Not that I dont like animals, Im just not that keen on dogs. ^^

reply

It is just a freaking dog, and a yippy armit dog at that. It probably deserved it.

reply

i would die for my cats.

I'm not really like that... except when I am.

reply

THANKYOU catty. It's nice to know someone else on this thread has a heart and a conscience.

reply

But absolutely no common sense or reason.

reply

You should.

I'm sure they would reciprocate. Scratch that, no they wouldn't. If you fell into a coma and stopped feeding them they'd probably just eat your face.

I have also been a vegetarian for a few years and LOVE animals with all my heart. I would never intentionally hurt an animal but I do agree with the above poster who mentioned your family's grief over you dying. Obviously this is all hypothetical so it's silly to get to deep into this conversation, but still. The death was quick & painless and I'm sure your family, friends & God would forgive you for having to make such a horrible decision. But it is every creatures main goal in life to live (& proliferate) so you must not feel like a monster for choosing yourself over your dog.

reply

I agree with you in that I would rather have shot myself than any of my pet cats - I really do love them that much. Some may say that my survival instincts are not that strong, but I don't think I have the right to sacrifice my pets for myself. Bearing in mind that she'd already seen footage of how the killer had tortured other victims, I think I'd rather be dead than face some of the things he was capable of doing.

reply

I obviously saw the edited version because i saw no dogs in the entire movie. I did not see any body parts milkshake either. That's too bad because i thought the movie lacked the blood and cruelty, etc.. AS for the thread here i have to say i am surprised. What are you people thinking? "I would die for my cats"? P-ha-ha-ha-lease. How crazy are you? As for the person that started the thread, that is just pure and simple STUPIDITY. I mean no offense, i just couldn't find another word to express what i feel about you and your dog(s). It's a frigggggin animal, not a human being. And people, all people in the world have at least something in common, a very strong thing. That is being selfish. That is one of the most pronounced characteristics people have. So don't tell me you would not kill your mutt. You would do it even if just to have 10 seconds more to live. And if you think about it, if you are in the situation in the movie, it will probably be best to shoot your dog than let it live and die of hunger or who knows what else. In conclusion, kill you animals for your life. It's not bad. But i do have to tell that i hate dogs with all my heart. I'm a cat person actually.

reply

What are you rambling about? What a *beep* loser this kid is.

"I would have rather died than kill my own dog..."

Easy to say that, but have you ever had a shotgun pointed at your head?
In that same position (You have 30 seconds) I guarantee you'd change your tune.

Like you I despise all cruelty to animals, but I am a human being and my family will miss me more than I could ever miss my dog.
And besides, if I can survive that scenario then I can live to save more animals than just that one.

Self-preservation, look it up

reply

mmm, i agree with the above posters. I would probably shoot my dog if i was in that situation. i'd be absolutely devastated, but i'd pretty much do anything to stay alive...it's human nature.

that said, when i'm watching a horror movie, i kinda think the same way as the OP. I HATE seeing animals die in horror movies (and yes, i KNOW they don't really die!). i would rather see a person die in a slasher movie than an animal. probably because animals are helpless...sometimes, they won't really know if they're in danger, and are too small or weak to fight back. humans have a chance...

So yeah...animals should NEVER die before people...as long as it's fictional. If it was really happening...well, that's another story :)
