Overrated

Just done watching the film, having heared a lot of really positive things from friends and critics about it, but I'm left quite underwhelmed. It was watchable, but nothing great. Massively overrated!

I gave it "1"
movie sucks

reply

People like you are why IMDb ratings are a joke.

reply

I agree. I gave it a 4/10, and would only give a movie a 1 if it were atrocious on every level: nonexistent production values, non-professional acting, a script that sounds like a fifth grader wrote it.

But so many people give either 1 or 10, which screws up the whole system. Some other people may use 7-10, but I'd bet I'm one of the only people who uses 3, 4, or 5.

reply

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's 'overrated.'

reply

Agreed. It's so in love with itself and Hollywood. One of those films where the characters spend the whole time making fun of their profession with all of their inside jokes.

reply

I guess if you didn't find it funny it must be overrated! After all, this is you we're taking about. If anyone knows these things about films, it's you, as the foremost expert in your field!

reply

Nah, it's underrated 

To me, personally, it's the most perfect movie ever made and has been since I saw it back in 2005.

Again, my personal opinion only. But it's really a fuggin' tremendous movie!

reply

I don't think it's the great film like a lot of people say it is, but I think it's a good decent movie, but not perfect. A 6 or 7/10 for me.

reply

I can see your point. I disagree.

reply

I agree, but many of the movies that become "cult classics" really aren't very good: "Repo Man", "But I'm a Cheerleader", etc. Or even something like "The Shawshank Redemption". That's a good, solid movie, like 7/10, but so many people treat it like it's the Second Coming and it's weird.
