in the end, how did jason get from russia back to new york

at the very end of the movie....... he is in russia talking to the girl.
next scene he is in NY talking to pamela landry on the phone.

how did he travel? he could not use his passport could he? he was still wanted?

It's answered in The Bourne Ultimatum. He had a passport that was never used before so he was able to get back to the U.S.
