WTF?!?! Worst Camera Work EVER!!

I can't even beging to tell you how disappointed I am at the shaky camera work. Like the fight in the kitchen, how hard did the actors and choreographers work to do that scene, only to have it completely ruined by unsteady, shaky camera work. it even seemed that when they had close ups of people talking, the background was all shaky.... this nearly made the movie unwatchable

I guess I could understand doing it in scenes that are frantic and fast paced such as during the fight scenes and the car chases. Just cause i understand doing it doesn't necessarily mean i like it.

but during scenes where absolutely nothing action oriented is going on like people just talking is completely nonsensical.

reply

Eh, It on Tv right now and i came across it by running through the channels.
One thing was the shaky camera, but also the damn annoying clipping... 1 to 2 sec clip all the way, even the dialogue scenes have been ruined by this fast clipping.

is it only me or does a film get more (way to much) superficial by this "artwork" of filming/cliping

I couldn't stand see the rest of the film

reply

Agree, it was really bad. I didn't notice it in the other 2 Bourne movies as much as I did in this one.

Well a lot of the action stuff was kinda confusing, but all the same nowhere near as awful as in something like the so-called Bond film Quantum Of Solace. Or maybe I`ve just become more used to such frenetic, sometimes seemingly incoherent flourishes; I faintly recall I tried to watch this same movie about 7 years ago and had to turn it off because of the annoying, tourette`s-stricken mess on screen. It`s notably faster cutting than in Identity, of course - hopefully, things won`t be speeding up any more in the third movie cuz this one really does sort of test ones` tolerance already.

I agree Quantum of Solace was an extreme example. Why the producers felt they had to follow the Bourne legacy I'll never know but they got flamed for it. Skyfall shows they recovered their senses.

I have to admit when it comes to Bourne, I'm almost used to the frenetic editing and hand held camera stuff, but it'd be nice to see it slow down a tad (or 2).
