Well, not so much one about the character's mind being all messed up, but a film that uses a similar device by way of a story instead of a dream: The Fall by Tarsem Singh. Since you already listed and saw The Cell, I'm sure you'll know there's no going wrong with Tarsem! =)

Fantastic list by the way, shall have to dig in to it myself.

I am fairly obsessed with "rubber reality" movies. (I call them "puzzle movies")

I think Solaris needs to be mentioned again. I think I only saw it once on this list. It's Soderberg's artsy masterpiece and it stars George Clooney. Very trippy and very good ending. It has a good sci-fi element too.

The Fall deserves a second mention as well. It's probably my favorite movie of all time. It's extremely well shot- best cinematography hands down, had a terrific score, and has a very good story and a unique way of telling it.

Three other movies that I would highly recommend that are already on the list are The Fountain, Triangle, and Eternal Sunshine.

Two movies I will add to the list are The Tree of Life and Sucker Punch.

Great work on the list guys! Ill definitely have to check out a bunch of these.

The Escapist (2008) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0961728/

There is another movie, one guy wakes in the hospital in coma, he has nightmares, tortured by the doctors, anyone know the name?

I think you're thinking of Sublime.

Thank you!

It's not a film and someone has already mentioned the film version, but I think the short story An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge is a precursor to a lot of these type of films.

I'm thinking of a black and white movie made probably in the 50's, about two brothers, little boys, who live in a farmhouse. There are parents, maybe an aunt and uncle on the same property. Toward the end of the film there is a big fire as the house or barn burn.

I can't remember the name of this film!

Don't want to give too much more away, but it's definitely one for this category, and a great one!

You might like Last year at Marienbad, it's surreal but definitely rubber-reality themed.
