Some people must be blind :
This is Milla Jovovich, she deserve interest. She was, maybe she still is, incredible, unique. She is beautiful, unbelievable ! Then the plot isn't so dull, there is a strong relationship between her and the young boy, which unfolds in the movie. And there is a nice score sometimes if you pay attention, and cool fighting, and strong symbolism if you catch it (tear drops). This isn't her worst movie at all.
You must be one of those rare people that don´t compare it to the source.

There was a british series called Ultraviolet in 1998.
After watching it, you can only get completely disappointed with this movie. No matter how much one likes the actors in it.

This is obviously NOT based on the British TV series. Just because they have the same name, they are not the same.
The writer/director may have been inspired by that show, but he made this his own.
And yes, I like it. It is a cool sci-fi comic book of a movie. Too bad the studio cut it all to hell. I would have liked to have seen the version they considered "too emotional."

I wouldn't put too much stock in the opinions on the IMDB---or the internet in general for that one, because hey, everyone's a critic and hating on stuff makes them feel better about themselves. It's all subjective.
