Why does the Spanish nanny call Dick "Retard" when they're getting out of the hot tub pit?

Its a joke that seems like it needs a deleted scene to explain it, but it really comes off as unfunny to me without the explanation behind the joke.

I think he was meaning to call him "Richard," which Dick is a short variant of.

She definitely said "Mr. Retard"
It was her Spanish accent trying to say "Richard." That's why he says, "Call me Dick."

She was calling him Richard, but with her Spanish accent it came off "Retard" ... it's called comedy
