Such a stupid idea/set up for a movie

A hit man hires a cab to take him around to his kills?

He would just have rented a car or killed the driver and stolen his cab.

No fucking way is a hit man going to let an innocent witness like this accompany him on his night of a serial killing spree.

And come to know him on a first name basis at that (were it not that he didn't forget, something told him otherwise). He was having a moment, maybe he hadn't always been so colloquial doing business.

Either 1. Max wasn't supposed to know so quickly, 2. Vincent could have rectified the situation anytime.

He kept him alive so he could frame him for all the killings.

I think the OP watched with his eyes closed and ears plugged.

Renting a car requires ID'ing yourself to a national registry which creates a paper trail for authorities to track down a source should "Vincent" end up dead or injured. It is made pretty clear by Lieutenant Fanning's sleuthing that the mystery assassinations of his witnesses was similar to previous mass murder screening in Oakland where a regular cabby is blamed for a string of deaths before his "suicide".

You may disagree with this premise, but it doesn't seem any less plausible than 99% of other action/crime dramas' character MO's.

Ahhhh, leave it to social media to complain about an awesome movie like this 22 Years down the road.. 🙄

The driver will be killed at the end the job, killing him before was not the best way to go, he needs his rest between jobs.
