Would Vincent kill Max?

Assuming those 5 targets were killed would he let Max live?

reply

My personal theory is that the viewer is supposed to decide that, and that it is a reflection of what the viewer is as a person. Personally, there is no way I would not have killed Max. I see no evidence that Vincent would not have killed Max.

I think Vincent would have had to assainate Max in the end. There was a reference made in the lift at the hospital by Fanning (Mark Ruffalo) about a similiar case a few years ago in which the cab driver died at the end of a spate of killings. My take is that this was a hint that it could have been a past incident by Vincent.

Peach, did you bother reading anyone of the numerous posts before yours or no? Quite a few individuals have brought up that reference you spoke of.

No, sorry... But I'm glad majority rules!

Of course he would. He's a professional killer, and Max could make him. And he did it before to the other cab driver.

Vincent was definitely planning on killing Max.

Please stop.

Vincent's pattern was to dispose of the taxi driver, once his objectives had been met. Vincent probably had it in his schema to kill Max, however, as the night wore on, things became more complicated, and Vince's comment "if we make it out alive" is reflective of this.

Given Vincent's strange moral code, it is impossible to determine whether he would have killed Max or not. Of course, Max suspected Vincent would killed him, however, the added variable of Annie changed everyhting, because as well as fighting for his own life, Max was motivated to fight for another life, and, as the narrative implies, the birth of a new future with Annie.

Judging from his sociopathic worldview and how coldly professional he is, not a chance. If he'd eliminated the targets and the whole night came off without a hitch, there's no way he'd let Max be a living witness. I don't think there's even any equivocation in his developing respect for Max. It might affect him after pulling the trigger, but he knows the job has to be done.

His plan was to kill him all along. As the other poster stated, he's done this before. The Cabbie is his patsy so he can walk away.
