Yancy. WTF??

I hate it that many movies feel the need to portray the "fat" girl as having NO confidence. I cringed when she asked, "Why are you talk to me?" Last time I checked, quality guys are not into the needy, insecure type. Sure, guys may get off on the attention of one of these girls for five minutes, but once they realize how much energy goes into keeping one of these girls happy, it's over pretty quickly. On the other end of the spectrum, I also dislike when the "fat" girl is OVERLY confident. Why can't Yancy just be like the other thinner girls in the movie? I get that the point is that "no guys talk to her" but COME ON! The better message to send would have been, yes, I'm not as thin as these other girls but I still have self confidence and good self esteem. Men are attracted to confidence. Granted, if a guy is into size 2 girls, he's not likely to hit on a girl who is a size 20. And if a guy is into bigger girls, he probably won't go for the skinny girl, regardless of personality. The point is, though, that having confidence makes the girl happier, more independent, and a hell of a lot more appealing!!!
