sequel series

apparently happening , not sure its a good idea without creator involved

It's supposed to bring Sophia Bush and Hilary Burton as Moms now. I wish I could say I'm looking forward to it but I'm not. I knew they would find a way to make sequel series as a lot of the teen shows have but Sophia and Hilary are both feminist whack jobs now all because series creator might have been a creeper who raised his voice a few times. Part of the fun in One Tree Hill was it's over the top crudeness in its humor and I know this new show will have none of that.

There'll hopefully be some good things out of it. Will be interesting to see whatever characters we do get to see. Especially it sounds like Rachel will be back too, so it will be nice to at least get closure/an update on her. However, Chad Michael Murray has already stated he won't be involved. So that's a bummer, because they'll likely either have him and Peyton divorced or he's dead. My guess is it's dead. From his heart issues. Because that will allow for it to be part of Peyton's story, another tragedy for Peyton, and then we'll get to see her heal and date again. Having him be away because they're divorced would ruin the star-crossed tragic lovers aspect of their story. Sure if he's alive he can come back and they can get together if they can ever get CMM on board. But him dying has more dramatic heft and finality, without also ruining their relationship. Personally I'd be happy if they had him just be an unseen character, and make a joke out of him always being in his study, hard at work on his next novel. But of course that would disallow them from having Peyton explore dating again. I also wonder what will be the deal with Julian. But of course that's not as big of an issue because Julian wasn't as iconic, integral, or long-running as Lucas. I like Julian fine, just saying.

What bugs me most is the predictability of the angle of it being about them being moms and having their kids be dramatic teens now.

As for Mark Schwahn, I understand your point from the creative POV, but it sounds like he did quite a bit more than raise his voice, and a lot of women said so. I believe the women, and that being the case, no, he shouldn't be back. But I do feel like this sequel series is also part of their whole thing about reclaiming the show and the experience.

That just hit me, they are going to do the good ol' start the story again thing! Brooke and Peyton's sons don't really get along and love playing basketball. Peyton's son likes Brooke's son's blonde girlfriend.. Hey, maybe Lucas fathered both the sons?! Could they, would they go there and have these two half brothers fight it out on the basketball court?

Hmmmm...

With the original series I found Lucas and Peyton to be the most interesting characters and when they left the show became duller with ide characters being thrown in and increasingly crazy storylines.

So I am not sure if the sequel series will be much good. I can't see it running more than a season anyway. They probably should have done a one off TV movie instead.

So Brooke and Peyton are moms now and what of the others? Nathan would be long retired from Pro sports. Nathan and Haley's annoying kid would be an annoying adult. I mean what is the point?
