I like to find movies dealing with divorce and family issues, because I had to deal with my parents' messy divorce since I was 10 and even to this day, I am conditioned a certain way because of circumstance and blah blah blah. But, I was expecting this movie to really tug on some heart strings, I thought it would be emotionally difficult to watch and stuff, but all I could think was, "man, these people have it easy." yes, I can sympathize and understand their problems, but I was expecting some bigger issues to be projected. Maybe I am just selfish for wanting to find a movie that ties closely to my own personal life, but I feel like there are a lot of these movies going around, especially currently, that depict "white people problems" rather than real, serious issues. Not to say that these are real or serious, but I just can't, I dunno, sympathize all too well.

Growing up with a parent who has narcissistic personality disorder is hell on earth. Someone doesn't have to beat you to be extremely abusive, in fact, emotional abuse can be even more difficult to get over. Trust me, I lived with both, and living with the impossible-to-understand-selfish-unless-you-have-lived-with-it madness of NPD has left far more scars on my psyche, PTSD, you name it.

These are far from "white people problems", but it may be hard to see all the subtleties in 89 minute film, so I can't blame you for not recognizing it.

The thread should really say wasp people problems; however, some white people make fun of wasp and call them white as well.

It's an expression, also often said as first world problems. It just means that only bored rich people would take it so seriously that their mommy and daddy don't want to have sex any more. Its like being sad that the Starbucks is too far from your house.
