I didn't realize it was him until I came on here and saw this post! I just watched it, also saw it for the first time back in 2005.. Wow. Amazing work by Daniel Craig.
Come on people, how could you mistake this pair of ice-blue eyes?
On the other hand when Craig was announced to be the new Bond I was the only one in my circle of friends who could put his name somewhere. ("oh, Paul Newman's crazy son from Road to Perdition? That's going to be interesting")
"I think that God has got a sick sense of humor and when I die I expect to find him laughing."
YES... thank you... I had the EXACT same reaction. At first I thought, oh no that's not him, there's no way... then as they kept showing him over and over I realized it was him and that he is a phenomenal actor. People only tend to know of him through the Bond movies, but he is a truly great actor... It did not even seem like him in any way shape or form.... his role was probably to small to have been nominated for an oscar but it was def. an oscar worthy performance... he absolutely immersed himself in that character.
"Cause she's got a great ass... and you got your head all the way up it!" - Vincent Hanna
I didn't know he was in the movie, but I remember thinking "man, this crazy guy is great, where have I seen him before?". After the movie I came here and "holy $hit that was james bond"
Well I just watched it tonight, and I did figure it out that it was Daniel Craig during his first appearance. Okay I wasn't sure until his second appearance, the eyes and bone structure give it away, but the dark hair fooled me.
But from this thread I just figured out that was Jennifer Jason Leigh, and the cast list says Mackenzie Phillips was in there also!!!
I just bought it on a whim, kinda a Brody fan and the brief description sounded good. It sat on my shelf for months and I just now pulled it out. Can't wait to share it with others! (But I won't lend it.)
I also thought it was an interesting coincidence that the song in the credits of The Jacket is from a James Bond movie (On Her Majesty's Secret Service if I remember correctly).
I recognized him almost immediately. Although I will admit at some points he had a bit of a Hugh Jackman in The Prestige look - minus the 1800s clothing - going on.
