Dave Grohl is a drummer of Tenacious D

Information for all of you who think he's embarrassing himself as Satan in the movie.

reply

He used to be in Nirvana, before the lead singer shot himself.

Then he started his own band called the 'Foo Fighters'

I love how serious this post is when it's full of well known information.

Who doesn't know who the Foo Fighters are let alone that Dave Grohl fronts it? I saw them a couple years ago in Toronto and the stadium was full and then some.

Foo Fighters? is this a new group?

just for the first two albums poncho. he never played live with them, and now they have a different drummer. at least that's what i heard in an interview with dave grohl and the d. but yeah, he had to play the devil in the movie, because he did the vocals for the devil on the cd. he was the perfect devil for the part. why would he be embarrassing himself?

and the person that first replied to you is forgetting of course that he is also the drummer for queens of the stone age...and he started some sh*tty metal band a while back as well

crack.

I think he's played live with them once or twice. He played the Devil in their "Tribute" video too. And Tenacious D appear in at least one of the Foo Fighter videos.

What do I know? I'm a bear. I suck the heads off of fish.

Actually from the Hurricane Katrina Benefit on 2005-09-22:

* David Grohl came out during 'Double Team' to start playing the drum-kit. The only problem was that during a previous band's set, all the drum sticks were thrown into the audience. So dave used just the kick drum and his hands to hit the cymbols and drums.. Obviously not making the perfect sounds .. so one of the people who got a stick in the audience threw the stick back onto the stage for Dave to use ... then a few seconds later the other person in the crowd who had the other drum stick threw his back on stage and "Doctor G" was in full force on the drum kit. A great moment to see unfold..

Christ, you people embarrass yourselves when you make up lies like this. First of all, Dave was a huge fan of Tenacious D when they first appeared on HBO. Before they were big, and it was just Jack and Kyle. Somehow, they all became friends, and Dave offered to play drums for them on the CD's and on national TV appearances when he could do it, because he loved the band and they were his friends.

Through the friendship they have helped each other out with things, including Tenacious D boys starring in "Learn to Fly" video back in the late 90's and Dave agreed to play Satan simply because they asked him to do it.

He's not a band member, he's just a friend that helps out when they ask. And they became friends because he's a huge fan of their act.

Idiots are fun. No wonder every village wants one. Also, Dave has said a number of times that he hates acting and can't watch himself in the movie and only agreed to do it because he's a huge fan and want to help them any way he can.
