I probably laughed about 3 times. I can't believe this message board has been up here 8 years and no one has mentioned that. People rag on highly-rated, quality movies all the time and no one mentions how mediocre this movie is? IMDB is a quirky bunch.
shareAgreed, I tried to give it another try (full viewing) but just skipped along and sighed at so many parts. All the actors are so horribly stupid/boring with the exception of Stiller who can't even save this film.
Vince Vaughn does not play 'the cool character' well and Justin Long needs to DIAF or play more serious roles. He is horrible as a goofy character (see Accepted as well) with an edge. He was decent in Waiting (most developed character and most serious background/story in a comedy) and Jeepers Creepers (horror film - serious).
Only films Vaughn has ever been good in is Crashers (which was a mediocre movie due to the plot) and Old School (more of an extra, kind of like Ferrell).
This is one of my favorite comedies of all time. It's just naturally funny. Alot of people have different senses of humor.
shareI have to agree, I just watched it again - like five minutes ago - and it had like two, to maybe three, "somewhat" funny moments. It might be a comedy, but it was childish, predictable - had terrible cliché characters - and was just, overall, quite unimaginative and stupid. Didn't care much for it, just waited for it to end, honestly.
I'd rate it 4-5/10, or something like that.
I respectfully disagree. I thought this movie was hilarious and one of my favorite Vince Vaughn films.
