What disturbed you more in this movie?

The strong physical violence especially the pulling off the teeth and cutting out one's tongue? Or the disturbing allegedly 'misogynistic' overtones and acts of sexual abuse and/or objectification of female characters including ones of an incestuous nature?

Or were both aspects in this movie disturbing enough in their own however different ways?

Also, as for the latter aspect, did you find that offensive? What about the former, physical violence, aspects?

Cheers.

P.S. In any case though, it is still an AMAZING movie, and in my opinion, and I have seen his other works, Chan Wook-Park's best work and the best film of 2003, 10/10 for "Oldboy" definitely.

What disturbed me was how boring it was, the violence couldn't save it.

**spoilers**

It was wall disturbing—I think that was the point.

The part I found hardest to watch though was the tongue scene. Not entirely sure why he did that. As penance, or to prevent himself from telling?

Him eating was revolting.
