The MOST DEPRESSING movie I have EVER seen!!

I mean... This is coming from a guy that has Black Swan, Atonement, Memoirs of a Geisha, 21 Grams, La Vie en Rose, A beautiful mind, The Hours, Melancholia...etc on his top 20 list, most of these movies can be REALLY depressing...

But this, This is WAY over the top, i mean i loved Christian's performance and the story was interesting to me, but i thought the director took it to a whole new level with the depression, IT WAS NOT FUN TO WATCH!! i still have a headache from watching it at 1:00 am .

Overall this movie isnt everybody's cup of tea, u either love it or u hate it. i gave it a 6/10

Did anybody mention Dancer in the Dark? Extremely depressing movie. I had a very visceral reaction to that film.

Or The Diving Bell and the Butterfly?

Requiem for a Dream for sure

I agree it's depressing movie, but EXCELLENT. You should to check out Christiane F. (1981).

I didn't find Machinist that depressing. Requiem for a Dream, Melancholia and Martyrs THESE are depressing stuff.

Quote from OP "u either love it or u hate it. i gave it a 6/10"

Didn't you just contradict yourself in the same sentence, dumbass?

You are spot on. It has to most depressing movie ever made. I first watched bits and pieces of this move when I was in Hospital for about 12 days battling a mystery infection back in 2005. It was on a movie channel on a little ceiling mounted TV in front of my hospital bed, of which I hired the use of. I could never seem to catch the beginning of it, but what I saw made me depressed. Particularly given how sickly I felt at the time, which also partly shaped my view of it. Now some 15 years later I've finally got round to watching the whole movie. Being in better health made it slightly easier to stomach, but didn't take from just how depressing it was,
