I Can't Express How Much I Hate Little Britain

So America do yourself a favour and don't watch the US Version of this. I live in the UK and have had to put up with this tripe and the supposed comedic trappings of Lucas and Walliams for what seems like infinity+. I don't normally judge anyone for anything but anyone who likes Little Britain and finds it funny is, frankly, a moron. No offence is meant but then if you watch this you will see and hear more offensive material on it. Do your brain a favour and avoid this like the plague. This actually depresses me when I see it on the TV and know that somehow people think it is good. What is the collective intelligence of the human race coming to?

Alright sir, you take the blonde, I'll take the one with the turban.

Agreed, I detest Little Britain as well. But it's Sod's Law, isn't it? I actually like Lucas and Walliams in their work separately and also when they've worked together on the brilliant but forgotten Rock Profile. Yet of course, the one thing of theirs that I hate and I genuinely think is one of the most idiotic and puerile (and not in a good way, like Bottom) comedy shows I've ever seen is the one thing of theirs that becomes a phenomenon.

Little Britain really is beneath their talents. Of course though, you can't really blame them for continuing with it, it's made them millions and broken them in America. Great to hear Lucas is returning for Shooting Stars though and hopefully Walliams will continued with his gifted dramatic acting.

I agree. The first time I watched an episode of it I thought it was lousy, but had a couple of good moments. For some reason I watched a second episode and found it equally awful, but with a large amount of jokes duplicated from the previous show. The Fast Show used to do the same thing, "This week I've been mostly eating...". That humour isn't really funny IMO, it just relies on the audience feeling the novelty of being 'in' on an in-joke.

Then the show received huge attention and critical acclaim. I was gobsmacked by it's popularity so watched more episodes. My opinion hasn't changed. It's the worst kind of humour to me and just awful. The acting is good, but the writing is not. Each scene covers one humorous situation, which is stretched out and padded with nonsense dialogue.

I too used to think I just didn't get it. Now I'm of the opinion of the thread-starter, that those that like it are just morons (or drunk/stoned). It's all the unfunny parts of Monty Python presented in the style of the Fast Show.
